Biography Mary Au Sable Myers is a sophmore creative writing major at Blake Magnet School for the Arts . Her interests are Japanese and manga, as goes without saying. She won first place for 10th grade poetry in 2004 in a competition by the Hillsborough Council of English Teachers( and second place for 9th grade poetry last year). She and a classmate won 13th place for a poem in Florida Artwrites!, a college English teachers' competition for Florida high schoolers. She is failing Spanish 3 because she spends all her spare (suposed to be homework ) time writing her novel lavender and putting it online at Fictionpress.com. You can read her novel (now 15 chapters, re-worked and re-worked in fiction workshops, etc into perfection ) at http://www.fictionpress.com/read.php?storyid=1346398
It is the story of a lost girl and a boy who won't shut up, or something like that. knowing it was written by a kid 14 and 15, it amazes a person. She has also drawn a lot since she did Amethyst and draws so much better now she is ashamed of her "naivite" here already.....While I'm not rel keen on her life engaged around Japan and comic books, her determination to excel in the field she loves is a good thing. |
